Mimi's Soft Serve

Mimi's is built on a simple idea: nobody outgrows soft serve. Co-owner Jennifer Rinella's grandmother, Marie—who everyone called "Mimi"—was a force. She wore high heels every day well into her 90s, ran the pizza oven at every one of Rinella's birthday parties growing up, and taught her to hand-roll pasta, cook, sew, tap dance, and play cards after dark. She had an opinion about everything—up to and including the correct vanilla—and wasn't shy about sharing it. Mimi was spirited, full of life, always surrounded by family and food, and never once lost her taste for a vanilla cone. Mimi's Soft Serve is named after her.

Mimi's previews in October 2026 with a food truck at Blackwells Outpost in Hanahan, a test kitchen for what's to come. The permanent Mimi's counter at Blackwells Corner will open in fall 2027.
